Five Pound King George VI-circa 1939-1952
The introduction of the denomination of Five Pound in 1939 led to a total of 135 million banknotes being printed over a thirteen year period, the colour was basic blue, and measured 181BY79MM, the obverse side featured a left side relief of King George VI as opposed to a right side relief of Queen Elizabeth 11 the reverse side featured a bas-relief panel called “Commerce”.
