Australian Twenty Pound Banknotes – King George V – circa 1914-1918
The introduction of the Twenty Pound was 1914, one year after the introduction of all lower denominations, there were two signature combinations only these being Collins/Allen and Cerutty/Collins, a total of 420.000 banknotes were printed the banknote measured 165BY98 to 168By102MM, with a basic dark blue colour featuring scenes from timber cutting in Bruny Island in Tasmania on the reverse side. A highly sought after banknote by investors of rare Australian banknotes, with very few surviving in better to superior grades of Fine or better.
