Changes to Australian Banknotes

October 1st 2002,

From 2002 there will be a number of significant changes to Australian Polymer Banknotes.

New look $20 polymer banknote

The first major change will be the new signature combination of McFarlane/Henry commencing with the $20.
Additional changes with the $20 will be the names of 'Famous Australians' appearing on the banknote as part of their design.

The adjusted placement of the joint signatories these being McFarlane/Henry.

This will be the first of a complete change to polymer banknotes from the $5 to the $20 incorporating the type of changes as listed above.
These planned changes will no doubt add considerable value to those banknotes bearing the signature combination of McFarlane/Evans in the years to come.
